Stellar Civic Journal

Editorial policy

Stellar Civic Journal aims to make civic culture understandable without flattening its history or disagreements. Our editorial choices favour clarity, fair context, and a visible distinction between fact and interpretation.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable source material before publication and take care with dates, names, quotations, and descriptions of customs. Where an account is uncertain, disputed, or open to interpretation, we say so rather than imply more certainty than the material supports. Readers may send corrections through the Contact page; we review them and amend published material when warranted, noting significant corrections in the relevant article.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions remain separate from partnership arrangements. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A placement does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view, and commercial arrangements do not determine our conclusions.

Illustrations and AI

Illustrations may be used to clarify an idea or provide visual context. Some illustrations are AI-generated; when an illustration is AI-generated, it is labelled accordingly. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence of a real event, object, or place.

Updates and corrections

If a reader spots an error or missing context, they can describe it through the Contact page. We assess correction requests on their merits, check the point in question, and update the article when appropriate. Material changes are identified so readers can understand what was corrected.

Our point of view

Civic life has a symbolic side

A flag, a public gathering, or a familiar phrase can carry more meaning than it first appears to. Stellar Civic Journal looks at these details with curiosity and care.
